CORONAVIRUS NOTICE

We are aware you are worried about your families so we have compiled some information on COVD-19 and at the end we include a list of things you can do at home to help prevent the spread.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 we would like to remind people that the reason for extensive measures is to prevent further spread and keep numbers low. The virus has been targeting those that are old and have serious chronic medical conditions like heart and lung disease or diabetes. The numbers of children affected is close to zero and they are a very low risk population. Though they are low risk population and only experience mild cold-like symptoms, please avoid allowing them to visit older relatives and friends, for they can spread it to them.

Currently there is a shortage of testing kits which are being reserved only for those in critical condition in the hospital. The current treatment is only symptomatic with no anti-virals or vaccines available yet.

Most people who get COVID-19 will be able to recover at home, so please stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care. Signs of emergency include difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, confusion or inability to arouse, and blueish lips or face.

The CDC has a full list of precautions including those for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children, as well as more great information on home and childcare safety.

Here is an abbreviated list of precautions you can be acting on:
  • Frequent hand-washing, which is preferable to hand-sanitizer.
  • Staying home, except to get medical help.
  • Call ahead before visiting the doctor.
  • Wear a face mask & cover your cough
  • Avoid sharing household items
  • Clean all touchable surfaces: kitchen counters, door knobs, toilets, phones, etc..
  • Monitor you or your child’s symptoms
